Laurel Holloman was a shy girl until she began acting in her late teens. She attended the University of North Carolina and also appeared in several Theatre productions during her college years. Laurel moved to Chicago after her first year of college in order to work with Piven Theatre Workshop. In early 1994, she moved to New York and appeared in stage productions ‘Tennessee Williams’ Glass Menagerie, Carson McCullers’ The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. She also performed Broadway in ‘Night Swim’. She made her debut in movies in 1995 as baby butch Randy Dean in ‘The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love’. Her independent film roles are on ‘The Myth of Fingerprints’, ‘Boogie Nights’ and ‘Tumbleweeds’ etc. On ‘The L Word, a drama based on lesbianism, she portrayed Tina Kennard. In 2005, she received Golden Satellite Award as ‘The Best Actress in a Drama Series’ for her brilliant performance on ‘The L Word’.

Laurel Holloman is married to Paul Macherey, an architect. They wedded on July 13, 2002. The couple has a daughter Lola Reiko Macherey and has an adopted daughter, Nala Belle.

Laurel Holloman appears as Tina Kennard on ‘The L Word’. She’s Bette Porter’s love mate and is the mother of Angelica Kennard. Initially, Tina was a straight girl and had two abortions in her early twenties. Her life changes when her boy friend took her to Bette Porter Gallery. There she meets with Bette and finds her warm, beautiful, smart and tough as well. Eventually, they begin the relationship. Series shows how much difficult it is for them to face the complications of being a lesbian couple.
